Vist to Days for Girls USA
Sandra and I have just returned from a North American holiday in April and May which included a visit with Celeste and Don Mergers from Days for Girls. After a couple of very special days at the Rotary head office in Chicago we travelled over to Washington state and enjoyed a couple on very pleasant days staying with Don and Celeste at their lovely new home, just North from Seattle. Celeste also very kindly drove us around the northern part of Washington state where we had an opportunity to see the wonderful farming country, including the beautiful tulip farms and to catch them in full bloom was amazing ! Celeste also drove us along the scenic coastline on the way to visit the Days for Girls head office in Bellingham, where we met their team and discuss the amazing progress they have made in expanding this wonderful program throughout the World.
We also discussed SewAID’s very close working relationship with Days for Girls, and the recent projects we have been assisting them with in Fiji, Solomons, and Cambodia etc. We are very pleased to report that our SewAID workshop at Sustainable Cambodia is just about to be certified as a Days for Girls Enterprise.
